San Diego, CA. – Since its official launch in September 2019, the San Diego Mesa College Resiliency Fund Campaign has been receiving – on average - $1,000 per day in donations, with total donations up to $67,000 as of November 18, 2019. Leading donors who made this possible include California Coast Credit Union, which provided an Olympian Gold sponsorship, and a generous bequest from Mesa Alumnus Warren Rigdon.

On Friday, October 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., San Diego Mesa College Culinary will present Chef Travis Swikard from Callie Restaurant, who will be creating signature dishes for his upcoming restaurant debut. The dishes will be a combination of Italian, French, Turkish creations sourcing local ingredients from local farmers. Refreshments and appetizers will be served in the beginning of the lecture.

On Wednesday, September 25, San Diego Mesa College Athletics has been awarded the DeVore Trophy for the 2018-19 calendar year. The DeVore Award is presented each year to a Pacific Coast Athletics Conference (PCAC) member college with the most successful men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic program for the academic year. Mesa College finished 2018-19 with a total of 217 total points overall. The last time Mesa won the DeVore Trophy was in 2011-12.

With an ambitious financial goal of $250,000, the purpose of the Resiliency Fund is to create a sustainable long-term financial reserve that could be used to assist students in need, and thereby decrease their risk of dropping out of class or college.

San Diego, CA. —San Diego Mesa College has announced the official appointment of Lindsay Samaniego as the new Women’s Basketball Coach for the Olympians. Samaniego joins the Olympians after six seasons at the helm of the Cal Lutheran women's basketball program, where she guided the Regals to a 91-66 record while making five straight appearances in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament, two of those appearances in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament Championship game. Samaniego boasts a 62-34 record against the SCIAC in her six seasons at Cal Lutheran.
