  • Mesa Student Raine Porter, Awarded 2021 National Tutor of the Year

    Mesa College student Raine Porter is the newest recipient of the College Reading & Learning Association’s (CRLA) Outstanding Tutor Award. Established in 1995 by CRLA’s International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) committee who review over 1200+ certified programs. The award is given annually to one undergraduate peer tutor, who contributes to the academic success of their peers. CRLA felt that Raine was a “true representative of what an outstanding tutor should be,” motivating and inspiring others through her passion and dedication to her work.

  • October Classes Still Available at Mesa College

    Today, Mesa College announced that over 100 “short-term” classes starting on October 18 still have seats available. Mesa College has over 100 classes that still have open seats, including courses in Black and Chicano Studies, Culinary, Drama, English, Exercise Science/Health, Fashion, GIS, History, Math, Multimedia, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science and Web Development. Both on-campus and on-line classes are available, and most classes fulfill GE requirements for both the CSU and UC systems or allow students to earn a degree in Career Education.

  • San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery Presents, Ludicrous Tales: A Topsy Turvy Quartet

    On Thursday, August 26, for the first time in over 18 months, the San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery will host a Reception and Open House featuring four international artists. The Reception and Open House will be held from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm., and feature outdoor refreshments. From 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., artist Gloria Muriel will be on-site at the gallery creating small drawings, which will be available for purchase for under $100.

  • Mesa College Launches Summer 2021

    San Diego Mesa College has started their Summer 2021 session, with over 350 on-line and hybrid (online and in-person) courses available. Over 7,500 students are already enrolled, and several courses still have availability. Many classes start this week, with other shorter-term courses starting throughout June and into July. Students can view the schedule at Mesa College is also offering student support services throughout the summer.

  • Mesa College to Confer over 2,200 Students for Graduation via Virtual Commencement

    On Friday, May 28, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., San Diego Mesa College will host their Virtual Commencement Ceremony for the 2021 graduating class, with over 600 students participating in the Ceremony. Mesa will be conferring over 2,200 academic degrees and 411 certificates, a 3% percent increase over 2020. The class of 2021 is boasting 75 valedictorians, 560 students graduating with honors and over 400 students who are receiving more than one degree or certificate. The Ceremony will go live on Friday at, and will feature of series of videos to include the Commencement Ceremony and the Presentation of the Graduates, along with program and alumni highlights.

  • Mesa College Foundation Raises $100 an hour in the First 24 Hours for Giving Day

    San Diego Mesa College has announced their 2021 Giving Day campaign that kicked-off on Wednesday, May 12, with match offered by the San Diego Mesa College Foundation. The announcement - made during the 28th Annual Scholarships Awards Virtual Ceremony that anyone who donated by 12:00 a.m. midnight on Thursday, May 13 will be credited with a triple match to their donation – generated donations of approximately $100 per hour. Donations made through May 29th will be matched up to $10,000.

  • Mesa College to Provide Over $130,000 in Scholarships

    Foundation will host their 28th Annual Virtual Scholarship Awards Ceremony, and recognize the 2021 winners. 225 awards are being distributed to 148 students – many of whom received more than one award. The total amount being provided is over $130,000.
