Accessibility

The San Diego Community College District is committed to equal access to web content. We aim to develop accessible websites and web applications to be in compliance with the following state and federal policies:

  • California Government Code Section 11135-11139.8 that brings into State law the protection of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act which ensures accessibility to government programs and also requires State government to follow accessibility requirements standards of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which ensures the accessibility of electronic and information technology.
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act that prohibits discrimination based on disability in federally-funded and federally-conducted programs or activities, including public systems of higher education.

Disability Services

The DSPS Department offers students access to disability related, reasonable accommodations (per Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act) which extend beyond those regularly offered by the college. The services listed below are arranged through the DSPS Department and intended to assist college students with disabilities to more successfully participate in regular college programs and activities.

Clery Act

The Clery Act is a federal regulation that requires U.S. colleges and universities that participate in federal student financial aid programs to distribute a detailed annual security report that discloses information about crime on and around our campuses.

Consumer Information

The Student Consumer Information Regulations of the United States Department of Education require all colleges and universities to provide their students access to certain information to which they are entitled to as consumers.

The San Diego Community College District portal and first-tier web pages at www.sdccd.edu are produced by the Communications and Public Relations Office and reside on servers maintained by district Information Technology.
