This is Coach Pinckney’s first season heading up the Women’s Tennis Program at Mesa College. He comes to Mesa College with some fourteen years plus experience as a tennis pro at clubs in the San Diego area. Presently Coach Pinckney works out of the University City Racquet Club as an independent contractor, in addition to his duties at Mesa.

In addition to his work coaching individual tennis players, Coach Pinckney was the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Serra High School in San Diego from 2003-2005. He also headed up the Women’s program during the 2004 season. During his tenure at Serra, the Men’s team returned to the CIF team playoffs for the first time in a number of seasons.

In addition to his work as tennis pro, Coach Pinckney has done conditioning and footwork-based training with a number of elite athletes in the San Diego community since 2005. Operating mostly out of World Gym in Pacific Beach; this work has been primarily focused on personal fitness training for competitive junior tennis players. But Coach Pinckney has also often worked with high school and college level athletes who were participating in fencing, swimming and football.

Coach Pinckney has worked with and\or been primarily responsible for the fitness training of athletes who competed at schools such as Yale University, Hofstra University, Claremont College, UCSD, William and Mary, Emerson College and others.

Coach Pinckney is a longtime United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) Certified Tennis Pro; and is also an American Sports Fitness Association (ASFA) Certified Master Personal Trainer.

Coach Pinckney was an Honors Graduate of Boston College and holds a B.A. in Political Science from that school. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota and a Law Degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego.
