ENGL 202 Introduction to Linguistics

Description: This course is designed to introduce students to the field of Linguistics. In this course, students develop an understanding of the nature of language through the study of core areas in linguistics including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. Students also read, write and think critically about related fields such as psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, and animal communication. This course is intended for students majoring in English or those with a general interest in Linguistics.
