Jonathan L. Fohrman

Jonathan earned B.A. and M.A. degrees in Ethnomusicology from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. He is a product of the community college system, having earned an A.A.S. from Shoreline Community College in Washington. Between 2003 and 2006, Jonathan served as Director, School of Performing Arts, Te Wananga o Aotearoa “TWOA” (The University of New Zealand). In this role he led the collaborative development of strategic and business plans for the TWOA School of Performing Arts. From 2001 to 2004, he was the Program Director, Bachelor of Maori Performing Arts, establishing a highly innovative bachelor’s degree department in South Auckland, NZ, and leading the development and assessment methodology of the learning outcomes of its bachelor’s program. During the same time, he was the site manager for the Maori Cultural Center, Rotorua. In that position he managed and administered all aspects of a multifunctional building complex, including leading and overseeing a two-plus year project involving the extensive expansion and redevelopment of the site. As head of the Department of Maori performing Arts, Te Arawa Campus, during 2001-2002, he coordinated and managed all aspects of the teaching department.
