Jill’s educational background includes her recently earned Ed.D. in Education Leadership with Community College Emphasis from San Diego State University (2009). She earned an M.L.S. from San Jose State University (1977) and a B.A. in English from the University of California, Riverside (1973). She also earned an A.A. in English from Taft College, Taft, California, in 1971.
Jill was hired at Mesa College in 2002 as an Assistant Professor/Librarian for Audio-Visual services. Since that time, the list of her professional accomplishments is almost too lengthy to enumerate. Jill has been involved in every aspect of computer technology on campus. She is a key member of Mesa’s Information Technology Committee and participated in the development of the college’s first Strategic Plan for Informational Technology. She has also taken a lead role in designing learning spaces for new buildings, including the Fine Arts Remodel and the Humanities, Allied Health, Student Services, and Mathematics/Natural Sciences Buildings. She is thoroughly familiar with the accreditation process and currently serves as Faculty Co-chair for the college’s Self-Study for the 2010 Reaffirmation of Accreditation.
In 2009, she was selected for the Teacher of the Year Award by the California Association for Postsecondary Education and Disability for her work in accessibility and universal design at the postsecondary level.
