Linda earned a B.A. degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis on International/Intercultural Communication from San Diego State University. She received her M.A. degree, also in Communication Studies but with an emphasis on Intercultural Organizational Communication Development, from the same institution.
Since 2006, Ms. Farnan has held concurrent, adjunct teaching positions at Grossmont College and Mesa College. Since April of this year, she has held a similar position at Vincennes University, located at the Coronado Naval Base in San Diego. She has worked with several Speech and Debate teams and programs and is well qualified to co-direct the Olympian Speech and Debate Team here at Mesa.
Since 2003, Linda has also owned and operated her own company, Manna Productions, which produces documentaries, docu-dramas, and edu-tainment features aimed at teaching communication. She has also been an independent contractor/distribution liaison for Knight Media, where she has worked with sales of foreign films, film festivals, and distribution rights.
American Indian Studies was Ms. Farnan’s minor field for the B.A. degree, and she has extensive experience in this area. She has spent time on tribal reservations and has been a consultant/researcher on historical and water rights issues for the Gros Ventre Treaty Council of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in Montana. She assisted in establishing the Singing Arrow Productions Company at Fort Belknap and also lectured to college-level American Indian classes on Federal Indian Law, environmental law, and modern-day treaty rights. Additionally, she has participated with organizations such as the Behavioral Health Institute, the International Peace Program and the National Diversity League.
