One of the reasons that San Diego Mesa College is referred to as “the transfer college” is the many services and activities it provides to students to help them reach their educational transfer goals to four-year institutions. The college kicks off Transfer Awareness Month with opportunities for students to meet one-on-one with 50 transfer institutions at a transfer fair, October 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the campus’ new promenade.
Representatives from Cal State University and UC campuses as well as dozens of private institutions and out-of-state colleges will offer information and answer questions on college admissions, financial aid, housing, and academic major information for students interested in transferring to one of these campuses.
Some of the colleges scheduled to attend the fair include Columbia University, UCLA, SDSU, National University, United States University, Grand Canyon University, and DeVry University. In addition, separate admissions workshops will be held by representatives from Columbia University, UCLA Transfer Alliance, University of the Pacific Pre-Pharmacy, SDSU Nursing and UCLA.
Month long events are organized by the Mesa College Transfer Center, which President Pamela T. Luster recently referred to as “one of the best assets Mesa College has to offer.”
