Financial Aid

Welcome

In keeping with the philosophy that no student should be denied a college education simply because of lack of funds, the Financial Aid of the San Diego Mesa College is dedicated to assisting as many students as possible given the funding available each year.

The goal of the Financial Aid Office is to assist with financial concerns so that you might obtain maximum benefit from the educational opportunities available. The Financial Aid Office recognizes that your situation is unique and your application is carefully analyzed with complete confidentiality regarding your personal and financial information.

Information regarding academic programs, facilities, faculty, student services, and the refund policy for tuition and fees are printed in the college catalog. You may obtain a catalog by contacting the campus bookstore.

ALERT - May 26, 2015

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced that it's "Get Transcript" application has been compromised by, as yet, unknown third parties who gained unauthorized access to the application. The IRS has assured the public that their main database system that enables secure tax filing submission remains protected. The full IRS statement can be read here. What this means for Financial Aid applicants - the IRS has shut down it's on-line "Get Transcript" application until further notice. The only way students and parents can obtain an IRS Tax Transcript is to request one by mail and this process can take up to 10 days for delivery. However, students and parents may also utilize the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) available via FAFSA on the Web.
