Andy MacNeill graduated from the Community College Leadership Doctoral Program at SDSU in 2013. He holds a Master's of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Spanish from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. Andy completed his Bachelor's Degree in Communication from CSU, Chico. Before becoming a the Dean of Humanities at San Diego Mesa College, he served as the Chair of the ESL Department at Southwestern College for 7 years. He has also served as a faculty union president, the Presiding Chair of the Council of Chairs and as a member of the Academic Senate Executive Board. Before coming to San Diego in 2000, Andy spent eight years in Japan teaching in the public school system, writing curriculum for a private education company, and teaching at a private university.
