Dr. Winston earned a B.A. degree with a major in English and a minor in writing from the University of Washington, Seattle. She earned an M.A. In Management from Webster University in St. Louis, MO, and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from United States International University in San Diego.
Beginning in 1998 to the present, Dr. Winston has taught undergraduate and graduate business courses at Alliant International University’s College of Business. She has an extensive record of counseling students, designing syllabi to meet course objectives, supervising doctoral dissertations, and supervising students in professional practice projects. Since 2002, Dr. Winston has been an adjunct instructor of business courses at San Diego Mesa College.
Along with her teaching and counseling experience at the college level, Dr. Winston brings knowledge and understanding of the business world where as a corporate executive she trained managers and supervisors in customer service, and taught OSHA regulations, labor laws, and human resources management. In addition, she has the ability to organize and manage multiple projects. Her sensitivity to multiculturalism and understanding of international relations add to her other strengths.
Dr. Winston’s interest in incorporating business theories with classroom lectures to enhance student learning will be a significant asset to Mesa’s Business Department. She has initiated several college-industry collaborations during her service with Mesa.
