ARTF 198A Introduction to Printmaking I

2 hours lecture, 4 hours lab, 3 units
Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Option

Description: This course is an introduction to the basic printmaking media of intaglio, relief, and monoprinting. Emphasis is placed on the techniques for creating and printing plates. Students investigate papers, select for properties, analyze aesthetic strategies for image making, and practice the principles of editioning and print conservation. This course is designed for art majors and all students interested in printmaking.
