Description: This course is an introductory hands-on study of the materials and techniques used in stage makeup design and application. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of a lexicon pertinent to the history and use of makeup in the theater as well as on the actual application of stage makeup in the classroom and as a member of the makeup crew for a theatrical production. This course is intended for students majoring in drama, theatre, film, radio and television and cosmetology as well as anyone interested in makeup for the stage. This course may be taken four times for credit. Students must demonstrate increased proficiency and/or new skill attainment with each repetition.
