Description: This interactive, elementary course in Mandarin Chinese builds upon the listening, reading, speaking and writing skills introduced in the entry-level course. Emphasis is placed on phonetics, characters, grammar, tone usage and common daily expressions. This course is intended for students who have completed the first course in the Chinese language sequence and want to continue their second-semester Chinese course, students who want to further their basic proficiency in the Chinese language, and students who want to continue learning Chinese for their personal enrichment.
