HEIT 258 Quality Assessment, Utilization Review & Risk Management
Description: This course introduces the concepts of quality assessment (QA), utilization review (UR), and risk management (RM) in health care to the Health Information Technology student. Topics included are purpose, philosophy, historical development, analysis techniques, and program development strategies. Quality assessment activities in Medical Staff appointment/reappointment process are covered. Additional topics include physician confidentiality issues and key concepts in continuous quality improvement (CQI)
