Description: This course is a study of basic appraisal principles, market analysis and highest and best use. Emphasis is placed on providing students with an overview of real property concepts and characteristics, legal consideration, value influences, real estate finance, types of value, economic principles, real estate markets and analysis, and ethics in appraisal practice. Course content also includes the tools needed to properly collect and analyze market data including market segmentation and disaggregation, supply side analysis, demand analysis and highest and best use. This course applies toward the new 2008 basic educational requirements of the Office of Real Estate Appraisers for the California Real Estate Appraisal license and is structured to comply with the 2008 curriculum requirements of the Appraisal Qualifications Board.
