Copy and Print Services
Overview
The AV Department provides a variety of services to support the audiovisual needs of the campus. This includes:
All oversight, maintenance and training for the smart classrooms on campus. All campus AV training is provided by the AV Department. Faculty should contact AV staff to schedule a training appointment if assigned to a smart classroom or if other assistance is needed, (619) 388-2690.
Audiovisual support for major events and meetings held on campus. These services are booked in advance through the AV Department.
Poster, banner printing and lamination services are available to all faculty and staff for college-related purposes.
Lamination is available for sizes ranging from letter size to full poster size.
Copies and transparencies can be made from either print or digital images.
Copy sizes range from standard letter size to full poster size, depending upon magnification.
Closed-captioning services.
AV staff is available to advise you on the best methods for these services.
Services can be billed back to the department or paid for by check.
Equipment Services
Playback and Recording Equipment is available for faculty, staff, and student use in the department's AV booths. Faculty and staff may also check out equipment such as video and digital video cameras, and digital still cameras for classroom/college-related business.
This equipment includes:
- Video playback and recording equipment
- CD and audiocassette players
- Camcorders with portable tripods
- Slide and overhead projectors
- Digital still cameras
Based on availablity, equipment may be checked out overnight or for the weekend for classroom/college-related business with the approval of the AV Supervisor, AV Librarian or LRC Dean.
Presentation Equipment
Classroom Presentation Equipment is available for faculty and staff use. Call (619) 388-2690 to reserve equipment. The equipment can be picked up prior to class and must be returned immediately after class. If this is your first time borrowing, you are encouraged to come by ahead of time and ensure that your presentation runs on our equipment. The equipment is located on carts for easy transfer.
This equipment includes:
- VCR and DVD playback equipment
- LCD projectors
- Slide projectors
- Computers with Microsoft software
- Laptop computers with Microsoft software
- For off-campus presentations relating to the college, a laptop and portable LCD projector may be checked out with prior approval of AV Supervisor, AV Librarian, or LRC Dean.
Special Note: students may check out equipment for classroom presentations when written permission is provided by the instructor.
Faculty need to come to the AV counter to complete the paperwork authorizing the student to check out equipment. The student needs to come to the AV Counter with the instructor when the reservation is made. The student picking up the equipment will need a current Mesa ID card and the signed permission form. Please note students cannot check out laptops under any circumstances; faculty must personally pick them up and return them.
Smart Classroom Equipment
Smart Classroom Equipment is located in all of the classrooms and lecture halls. The equipment is kept locked when not in use. For a key and training on use of the equipment, contact the AV Department at 388-2690.
The equipment includes:
- Podium or cabinet
- Computer with Microsoft Office
- LCD projector
- VCR/DVD player
- Sound System
- Central Control System

Professional Video Production Services:
Videotape campus projects/presentations
Post Production
Provide professional video postproduction services using Final Cut Pro and AVID non-linear editing system.
Digitization and editing of video footage into a product that can be used in a variety of formats.
Video Transfer
Transfer video programs into a variety of formats, including international formats.
Audio Transfer
Transfer and editing of audio programs into various formats (reel-to-reel, CD).
Off-Air Recording
Off-air recording for classroom use.
Teleconferencing
Teleconferencing services, including broadcasting and recording video programs from the LRC video distribution system (consisting of cable and satellite programming) into virtually all rooms in the LRC and to H117-118.
Digitization
Digitization of slides for use in video productions, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
