To be eligible for admission to the Animal Health Technology Program, a candidate must:
- submit a completed application
- provide proof of a tetanus toxoid vaccination within the last 8 years on the first day of classes
- provide proof of a negative TB (tuberculosis) test administered within the 30 days prior to the start of classes
- Prior to submitting an application, the candidate must first apply for admission to San Diego Mesa College. This must be done online at http://studentweb.sdccd.edu.
- Dead line for submission of the completed application packets is June 15 th of each year. Completed packets are accepted year round and can be mailed to the Special Admissions Clerk or delivered in person during normal Admissions Office hours
- As a totally completed packet is submitted, it is given a "sequential priority number". . The following constitute a "totally complete" packet: Application, Official Transcript(s), Orientation Certificate (optional), Competency Documentation, and "Work In Progress" certificate, if currently enrolled in a prerequisite course.
- Completed packets are numbered as they are submitted. If more than thirty (30) completed applications are received by June 15th , a random lottery is utilized to select the entering class members.
- "Continued Interest" letters may be mailed several times during the year. It is the responsibility of the applicant to respond to each letter by the deadline date, failure to do so will cancel the "priority number" of the individual's application packet. It is the applicant's responsibility to notify the Special Admissions Clerk of any changes in contact information.
- Any candidate wishing to change their application status (withdraw or cancel) must provide immediate written communication to San Diego Mesa College Special Admissions Clerk.
