Peer Navigators

Eligibility:

• Attend Mesa during the 2021-2022 Academic Year
• Full time Mesa College Student
• Enroll and complete 12 units each semester
• Completed 24 units by June 2020
• Have a minimum 2.75 GPA (cumulative)
• Must be available during the summer: June 30th - August 14th
• Be able to work on campus and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Culturally sensitive and able to promote diversity, equity, and student support
• Provide name/e-mail address of current SDMC Faculty/Staff for reference check

Duties:

• Mentor 75-100 first-year students throughout the 2021-2022 Academic Year
• Attend mandatory training during the summer (June 8th - June 26th, 8am-1pm)
• Work the 2021 Summer CRUISE, 2022 Winter CRUISE and 2022 Saturday CRUISE
• Be a mentor by setting a positive, successful example
• Actively mentor your students on a monthly basis for the academic year
• Attend weekly meetings
• Design workshops, events, and hold office hours
• Motivate your students to achieve their goal
• Participate in Professional Learning

RATE of pay:

• $14.00 per hour
  (up to 20 hours per week year round)
